Review

I heard about this series quite a while ago but had not started it until recently. That is mostly because I have been in the middle of MANY different series that I felt like starting another one would be overwhelming. Especially when the series in question already had TEN BOOKS in it! But I am always in the middle of a ton of different book series and that is never going to change so I threw caution to the wind and I am very glad I did.

Moon Called was an easy, quick-paced read full of action, fantasy and a DASH of romance. I mean just a dash too. I enjoy a good paranormal romance as much as the next girl, but it is really nice to see an author that makes our Heroine the strong and independent type. Mercedes Thompson is a tough Volkswagen mechanic and owner of her own shop. She is a loner but not in the grouchy, hermit-like way but more in the I’m-one-of-a-kind way. She is a paranormal called a “Walker” or “Skin Walker” and she can shape shift into a coyote.

In this alternate reality where the Fey have come out into the public eye and everyone is just waiting to see what happens next, Mercy along with her werewolf friends are keeping there identities on the DL. She is just trying to live a simple life working at her shop and living in her thirty year old singlewide trailer with her pet cat. However, someone has other plans in mind and after the sexy leader of the local werewolf pack, Adam, is severely injured and his teenage daughter is stolen, Mercy has to take action. Along the journey to find the culprit and the missing daughter, Mercy will have to face her former life and her old flame that broke her heart so many years ago. Luckily for her she will have all of her friends at her disposal, Werewolf Chief of the American packs (Bran), her former Fey boss, her vampire friend (Stephen) and the sexy neighbor and local pack leader (Adam). Things are going to get a bit hairy!

Since I have read this, I have already read the second book in the series (I have been slacking on my blog duties!) and let me just say that this series has a strong set of characters that keep it exciting and fresh! The stakes get higher and the danger more likely in the next novel. You will not regret getting involved in this series! There is a good reason there are ten books. I have listened to these novels on Audible and have loved there performance given by Lorelei King. She is my all time favorite narrator to date. Her voice changes flawlessly between characters and is so believable. This series could not have a better narrator to tell these stories!

*If you would like to try out this novel on Audible let me know and I will send you a copy to your email!
