25 Books of Christmas- Day Fifteen

Hello book fanatics!

For those that haven’t been following, Mersadies from Between the Bindings and I are doing a “25 Books of Christmas” blog event together! We are alternating days and will post a book each day that either has a Christmas theme or is just a great read for the holidays. We are going to try to include as many different genres as possible to have great options for everyone. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy this great holiday read!

On the fifteenth day of Christmas, my fellow Netflix binger gave to me…

Books Jay AsherWhat Light by Jay Asher

Publish October 18, 2016

Genre: YA Romance, Contemporary

“From Jay Asher, #1 New York Times bestselling author of Thirteen Reasons Why, comes a romance that will break your heart, but soon have you believing again. . . .

Sierra’s family runs a Christmas tree farm in Oregon—it’s a bucolic setting for a girl to grow up in, except that every year, they pack up and move to California to set up their Christmas tree lot for the season. So Sierra lives two lives: her life in Oregon and her life at Christmas. And leaving one always means missing the other.

Until this particular Christmas, when Sierra meets Caleb, and one life eclipses the other.

By reputation, Caleb is not your perfect guy: years ago, he made an enormous mistake and has been paying for it ever since. But Sierra sees beyond Caleb’s past and becomes determined to help him find forgiveness and, maybe, redemption. As disapproval, misconceptions, and suspicions swirl around them, Caleb and Sierra discover the one thing that transcends all else: true love.

What Light is a love story that’s moving and life-affirming and completely unforgettable.”

Find it on Amazon or B&N

This novel is from last year BUT with all the hype 13 Reasons Why received this year and how wonderful it was, I thought I would include this Christmas novel by the same author, Jay Asher. I have not read 13 Reasons Why but I did watch the Netflix series and I was WOW-ed and moved by it. This story seems like it will be the same insightful and real tale of two teenagers in love. It’s messy and nobody is perfect but maybe true love really will prevail. Read to find out.

I’m buying this for my sister and mom for Christmas… They will love it!
