Review:

Phoebe Morgan really went all in with her debut novel, The Doll House! I was pleasantly surprised by the elegant writing and how she set up the story line to spoon feed the reader the information when it would be most effective. Oh yeah… and how freaking creepy it was! I caught myself looking over my shoulder and checking to see if my blinds were closed more than once, while reading this story.

Corinne and her sister, Ashley had a charmed childhood. Living in their large home in comfort and surrounded by their two parents whom loved them without bounds, they never struggled at all until their father passed away. Now life minus their beloved patriarch seems a little harder and less bright. Corinne is struggling to conceive through IVF for the fourth time and Ashley’s home life is crumbling as her husband starts coming home later and later from the office, her oldest daughter starts partying and her youngest child of the three NEVER sleeps… And that is just the beginning. Circumstances only worsen when Ashley starts receiving phone calls late at night with only breathing on the other end and Corinne finds pieces of their childhood doll house on her door step.

Are they going mad? Or is someone targeting them? The suspense is palpable throughout this novel and as a mother, it scared the hell out of me! If you are looking for a good thriller to get your pulse and mind racing then this is the novel for you. Bravo Morgan! Cannot wait to see what you do next.
